Newcastle United have been linked with a whole host of signatures over the past few weeks, as Rafa Benitez looks to sustain the Magpies' position at the top of the Championship standings.

The Geordies are 1 point ahead of second-placed Brighton and Hove Albion, however Chris Hughton's side have a game in hand on Newcastle United which would take them back to the top.

A minority of the St James' Park will be somewhat displeased that Benitez's men do not have a further lead ahead of the Seagulls, especially after what was an exceptional summer transfer window for the Tyneside club.

The likes of Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie have come on leaps and bounds at Newcastle, however there's no doubt that the Spanish boss will need to strengthen in the current window.

With that being said, here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies a Chelsea man and a Liverpool player that Rafa Benitez needs to sign for Newcastle this transfer window...

Charly Musonda

After having an offer rebuffed by Chelsea for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, after Antonio Conte hinted that he could play more often for the Blues, Benitez should look to move for Musonda.

The Belgian hasn't made much of an impact at Stamford Bridge, let alone under Conte, failing to make a senior appearance in over two seasons for the London club.

The 20-year-old is a winger by trade, however he can also operate as an attacking midfielder, and showed glimpses of class for Real Betis this term, making 24 appearances for the La Liga outfit.

Sheyi Ojo

Joining from Anfield should be none other than Sheyi Ojo.

The Magpies recently declared an interest in the 19-year-old, with Rafa Benitez stating that he is interested in the pacey winger.

Although Jurgen Klopp is reluctant to let him leave on a permanent basis, due to a lack of squad depth, Benitez could definitely loan in Ojo, who had impressive loan spells at both Wigan Athletic and Wolves, on a loan deal.
