Loads of Charlton Athletic fans have reacted after an important update was given regarding the status of the club's ongoing takeover.

It was announced last week that the Addicks' much-maligned owner Roland Duchatelet had finally accepted an offer to sell the club to Abu Dhabi based consortium East Street Investments.

However, the deal was subject to clearance by the EFL and rumours had recently began to spread that the deal had been rejected by the governing body - news which would have crushed the fans.

But on Wednesday, Richard Cawley of London News Online, offered an update, revealing that this was categorically not the case and that the process was still on going.

With the Addicks failing to win in their last seven Championship matches, this will have come as a huge relief as they look to turn their campaign around.

Although it is likely that as long as they have new owners, form will not matter too much for a while yet.

Here is what was said following this update...
