High-flying Birmingham City travel to Elland Road this weekend as they look to take advantage of Leeds United's poor home form.

Uwe Rosler wants to take Wigan into the Premier League sooner rather than later
Uwe Rosler's Leeds United go in search of a first home win of the season when they entertain Birmingham City this afternoon (3pm kick-off)

New signing Will Buckley is expected to make his debut for Uwe Rosler's men after completing his three-month loan deal on Friday.

However, top scorer Chris Wood is a major doubt. He missed last week's 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough with injury and while he will be assessed, he is not expected to play any part this weekend.

Promising youngster Sam Byram was dropped to the bench last week after refusing to sign a new deal, leaving Rosler with a decision to make about whether to recall him or retain Jordan Botaka, who made his debut at the Riverside Stadium.

Leeds have made an unspectacular start to the season, and have been inconsistent in their last few games.

They drew their first four games of the campaign before beating Derby County to continue their unbeaten start to the season before the international break. However, since then they have won once, drawn once and lost two. They currently sit 15th in the table, but a win this afternoon could see them climb into the top ten. If they lose and results elsewhere go against them, they could be dragged into an early season relegation battle.

Gary Rowett has a near fully fit squad to choose from for the trip to Elland Road.

Midfielder Andrew Shinnie could return to the squad after he missed their midweek victory over Brentford. Clayton Donaldson shrugged off a hip injury to score in the 2-0 win and he is expected to lead the line once again for the Blues. Scottish defender Neil Eardley will definitely miss the game though after he dislocated his shoulder in the game against Ipswich last month.

Birmingham have had a terrific start to the season and they have lost just two of their opening nine games.

Their formed picked up after former player Rowett replaced Lee Clark as manager last season, and that has continued into the current campaign. They currently sit in sixth position and will hope to close the gap between them and second placed Middlesbrough. While they could drop out of the play-off places with a defeat, Blues fans will be confident of getting something from the game as they haven't lost in their last six away games.
