The 20-year-old full-back is thought to be high on Brendan Rodgers transfer wishlist as he prepares for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Byram has been the subject of interest from an array of clubs, with Southampton and West Bromwich Albion holding a firm interest last January.

However, Liverpool have joined the race to sign the highly-rated Thurrock born defender, who can also operate as a winger.

Byram has spent his whole career at the Yorkshire club, and has amassed 69 appearances for the Elland Road outfit, scoring three goals.

Liverpool manager Rodgers is keen to instill more young British talent into his side, and is eyeing a move for the talented defender.
