The Nottingham Post reports that the new chairman Francesco Becchetti has vowed to back Orient boss Russell Slade for new players.

Slade is said to be ready to offer ex-Forest striker Ishmael Miller a bumper deal to drop down from the Championship. Miller was released by the Reds in a mass clear out by new boss Stuart Pearce.

Miller cost Forest a reported £1.5m when he signed from West Brom three years ago, however it is understood that Doncaster are also said to be keen.

Orient has also made contact with current Forest striker Darius Henderson who is contracted with the club until 2015. Henderson may well find his outings limited after the club signed Matty Fryatt and Lars Veldwijk, alongside Simon Cox who is showing his worth in pre-season.

Pearce may be open to letting the former Millwall man out on loan to relieve a selection headache and a cluttered forward wage-bill if Leyton Orient does follow up their interest.
