Rotherham United are closing in on their first signing this month, in the form of Leeds midfielder, Toumani Diagouraga, according to The Star.

Diagouraga has fell out of favour at Elland Road since the arrival of Garry Monk, and given the emergence of Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips, game time for the French midfielder looks to be limited.

Despite there being no guarantee that the move will definitely happen, talks have taken place between Leeds and Rotherham over a loan move for Diagouraga - and a deal is allegedly expected to happen in days.

Diagouraga has played for Rotherham before, making seven appearances in a brief loan spell back in 2007, whilst on loan from Watford.

After losing Jake Forster-Caskey and Greg Halford, the Millers were already depleted in centre midfield and with Lee Frecklington now requiring surgery on his ankle, Paul Warne's options are even more limited.

The Millers are embroiled in a relegation battle and starting to get cut adrift, so attracting players may prove to be a difficult prospect for Warne this month.

Rotherham fans... What are your thoughts on Diagouraga? Will he be a good addition for you? What will he bring to your midfield? Leeds fans... Will you be sad to see Diagouraga leave? Who would you like to see him replaced with? Or does he not need replacing? Let us know your thoughts below!
