Leeds United are plotting a £2million move for Serie A side AS Roma midfielder Federico Viviani, according to TalkSport.

The 22-year old midfielder has come through the ranks at Roma to be a member of the first-team squad but has failed to make an impact.

Federico Viviani could be set for a switch to Leeds

The Italy U21 international is now a target for the Elland Road side who hope Viviani can help push them into the Premier League.

Viviani has spent the past two season out on loan from Roma at Padova, Pescara and Latina respectively, making a total of 50 appearances.

So far the 22-year old has featured seven times for Roma but is destined for a future away from the Italian capital and Leeds are prepared to offer him an escape route to play in English football.

The Italian currently has three years remaining on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico but it is thought a bid of around £2 million will be enough for him to be sold.
