Carlisle United manager Keith Curle has rubbished rumours suggesting that Charlie Wyke had completed a move to Preston North End, according to local news outlet The Carlisle News and Star.
However Charlie Wyke is believed to have a release clause in his contract meaning he could leave for a figure which may be less than £400,000.
Charlie Wyke has 14 goals in all competitions for promotion chasing Carlisle this season, including 10 in League Two.
The Cumbrian outfit sit third in League One but are 5 points clear of Portsmouth in the automatic spots.
The 24-year-old’s goals have been vital to their success and he has understandably been linked with a move away from Brunton Park.
Preston were believed to be interested in the former Middlesbrough striker’s services but Curle has played down those rumours, insisting that no deal had been done yet.
Curle believes that Wyke is happy at Carlisle and hopes that he will stay this January.
