Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has revealed that the majority of the Whites summer business has been done but wouldn't rule out any more signings.

It has been a busy few weeks at Elland Road, with Helder Costa the most high-profile arrival after joining on an initial loan deal from Wolves, with young centre-back another through the door.

However, there have been departures too. Pontus Jansson completed a surprise transfer to Brentford and Jack Clarke signed for Spurs, although he was immediately looked back.

And, Orta addressed the shape of the current squad when speaking to Leeds Live, indicating that they aren't going to be major moves between now and the deadline.

"We are always open in the market, but now we are [at] 90 per cent of the [squad we want]. It’s always a decision of the club. We are in a situation that all of the decisions are totally co-ordinated between all the people within the club: board, director of football, head coach.

"Ninety per cent is close, but obviously it’s football. In life the only thing I know is I am going to die. The rest - I am not sure of."

The Verdict

This is a somewhat encouraging update from Orta as the Leeds fans will feel that new additions are needed and he is not ruling anything out.

Many feel a centre-back is a necessity and they will hope that this means Orta and the rest of the recruitment team are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.

But, it is also a warning to the fans not to expect a lot of new arrivals as they clearly feel the majority of the squad is ready to go in terms of pushing for promotion.

Overall, this is a good position to be in at this stage of the season and it appears there won't be any panicking at Elland Road if nothing comes up.
