Ashley Williams has expressed his excitement to see Bristol City duo Adam Nagy and Korey Smith return from injury.

Nagy played the full 90 minutes against Cardiff on Sunday after recovering from a number of set-backs having picked up an injury whilst away on international duty with Hungary.

Smith travelled with the squad and was out warming up before the match started, he's close to returning and played for the under-23 side on Tuesday afternoon.

The Robins have had a great start to the campaign and are currently sat inside the play-offs after 16 games of the new season. Lee Johnson's side are aiming for the Premier League, and Williams believes these two returning players can help them meet their ambitions.

Speaking via Bristol Live about Smith and Nagy, Williams said: "They are two massive players for us and it was nice to see Nagy out there.

"I thought he did really well seeing as he's been out for so long, and to get 90 minutes as well. And Korey is a massive boost for us and to just have him travelling with us was good for everyone. He's been working hard in training and looks really sharp. If we can get him back that'll be really good as well."

The Verdict

It's great to see Nagy return to the side and play so well. He's a really gifted footballer and what he does in the midfield is so impressive in the Championship.

There's a long way to go of course in the season, but there's no reason why the Robins can't go on and get promoted, especially after they've shown they are much more stable at the back than in previous seasons.

Smith will also be a massive boost to the side, and he's a fans favourite so it'll be nice for the supporters to see him come back into the team and hopefully help them push up the league table.
