Preston North End will be looking to improve on last season's adequate showing in the 2019/20 campaign.

Last season saw Alex Neil's side make a concerted push for the top-six although a serious loss of form in the final months saw them fall away and eventually finish in 14th place.

But with Neil signing a new deal at Deepdale, the Lancashire club have been able to get a decent pre-season's work under their belts.

And they added another signing to the acquisition of Patrick Bauer on Wednesday afternoon when striker David Nugent completed his return to the club.

Nugent first made the move to the club from Bury in 2005, netting 37 goals in his two-year spell, before being sold to Portsmouth for just over £8million.
