Eddie Nketiah scored his first Elland Road goal as Leeds United picked up their third win of the season against Brentford on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old scored a debut goal for the Whites against Salford City in the Carabao Cup last week, and was brought on in the 77th minute to play alongside Patrick Bamford in midweek, in what was his first appearance at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa's side failed to break down the Bees despite big chances for Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich, but the Arsenal loanee made an instant impact and found the net after fantastic wing-play from Helder Costa.

After scoring just four minutes into his home debut, plenty of ex-players, including Arsenal legend Ian Wright, shared their delight at Nketiah's second goal in as many games for the Yorkshire club.

Jermaine Beckford, who knows all about scoring goals at Elland Road for the Whites, was also present to watch Nketiah score the winner for Bielsa's men, and expressed his joy straight away on his

Leeds returned to the top of the Championship after the win against Thomas Frank's Bees, and they will now look to face struggling Stoke City on Saturday afternoon at the bet365 Stadium.

The Verdict

It's nice to see one Elland Road legend show support for another rising star in the game, and Nketiah is going to be so important for Leeds this season.

As he was for his goal against Salford, he was in the right place at the right time and scored his second goal in as many games without really breaking sweat.

It will be interesting to see whether Bielsa looks to play both Nketiah and Bamford up top together from now on, after another impressive display from off the bench.
