Derby County have been looking back on Jayden Bogle’s first senior goal for the Rams, which came a year ago yesterday.

Bogle broke onto the scene at Pride Park last season and enjoyed a fine campaign, helping the Rams into the play-off final. He struck two goals and registered nine assists for Frank Lampard’s side, announcing himself to the Championship emphatically.

The first of his goals came on April 6th, with Bogle striking in a 3-3 draw with Brentford at Griffin Park.

That goal has been the subject of a Derby County throwback on Instagram, with Bogle responding with a starstruck emoji.

The right-back’s second goal last season came in a 2-0 victory over Bristol City in late April, whilst he’s built on that breakthrough campaign in 2019/20.

So far this season, the 19-year-old has made 31 appearances across all competitions, adding one more goal to his Derby tally, which came in a 4-0 victory over Stoke City at the end of January.

The Verdict

The goal against Brentford will have been a big moment for Bogle in his Derby County career, and it is highly unlikely that he will ever forget it.

In fact, the whole campaign, maybe minus the play-off final result, will live long in the memory of the Derby squad, who defied the odds to reach Wembley.

This season doesn’t look like following a similar path, but Bogle’s pathway to the top is still running smoothly.
