Birmingham City have endured a flying start to their EFL Championship campaign this term, and have very much exceeded expectations yet again under Gary Rowett.

All eyes were on the Blues' bitter rivals Aston Villa before the season, as the Villans were expected to blitz the league and go straight back up to the Premier League.

But Gary Rowett's men sit 4th in the league standings, after 8 victories, 7 draws, and 3 defeats from 18 games, and look a team on the ascent with Rowett at the helm.

With the January transfer window looming, now is the chance for teams pushing for the play-offs and promotion to bring in fresh talent in order to bolster their attempts.

But with a squad blessed with such quality, maybe Rowett needs to look closer to home, rather than rushing to get the chequebook out.

With that being said, FLW writer George Harbey here identifies TWO wonderkids that Gary Rowett should look to take a chance on in the remainder of this season...

Koby Arthur

Koby-Arthur

Arthur is currently out on loan at League Two outfit Cheltenham Town, however Rowett should definitely think twice about sending the winger back out on loan in January when his deal at Whaddon Road expires.

The Ghanaian has made 12 appearances for the Blues, and has also had impressive loan spells at both the Robins and Lincoln City in recent years.

And after netting 4 times in 8 games for Gary Johnson's men in his first loan spell, Arthur definitely has the potential to be a real success at St Andrew's.

Jack Storer

Storer has endured a fiery start to his Birmingham City career to say the least.

The 18-year-old, who came through the ranks at Stevenage, scored 7 goals in pre-season and then made 3 appearances for the Blues early in the year but was sent off against local rivals Wolves for headbutting Kortney Hause in what was his second game for Rowett's men.

Aside from this, many Blues fans highly rate Storer, and the forward definitely has the potential to succeed at St Andrew's, and Rowett should definitely take another chance on him.
