Football League World's Fulham fan pundit Charles Jones has given his thoughts on Aleksandar Mitrovic's season so far, with the former Newcastle man having surprisingly agreed a new contract this summer with the Whites.

Mitrovic has been one of Fulham's key performers this season, with the Serbian international striker having scored eight goals in his first 11 Championship outings this campaign, putting him top of the league's top scoring list at the time of writing.

Considering the form that Mitrovic has shown during his three seasons at Craven Cottage, it is perhaps surprising that the Whites managed to hold onto the 25-year-old frontman this summer, with Jones providing his thoughts on Mitrovic's decision to stay by saying the following:

"I couldn’t quite believe it to be honest.

"There were murmurs that he was going to stick with us in the Championship, but I wrote those off as he’d just had a decent season in the Premier League.

"I remember Fulham’s official Twitter sending out a random fire emoji just before he signed his new deal and when it was finally announced I was absolutely buzzing."

Before our fan pundit was then asked about how he thinks the towering front man has fared this season, to which he replied:

"He’s the top scorer in the division, but it’s kind of scary that I don’t think he’s hit top gear yet.

"I think that in the early periods of the season, he struggled a little bit as Knockaert and Cavaleiro were constantly looking to cut inside and shoot, rather than delivering the ball directly into the box.

"However, it’s quite clear that Parker has put more emphasis on crossing the ball in recent weeks, and that’s certainly helped him.

"I honestly think he could hit 30 in the league this season."

If Mitrovic's early season form is anything to go by, there is no reason why our fan pundit's prediction won't come true as the Cottagers seek to return to the Premier League at the first attempt, following last season's relegation.
