Hull City made a relatively strong start to this year's league campaign, with the Tigers currently sat 12th in the Championship table after 16 games.

Grant McCann's side have shown glimpses of their exciting potential already this season though, with Hull running out convincing 3-0 winners against promotion hopefuls Fulham before the international break.

One player that hasn't featured at all this season for Grant McCann's side though it Markus Henriksen, who looks as though he's set to leave the club for free when his contract expires at the end of this year's campaign.

Speaking in a recent interview with Dagbladet whilst on international duty with Norway, Henriksen wouldn't be drawn into making a decision on his future, but revealed that he has interest in his services from other clubs heading towards the January transfer window.

"We have to wait and see what happens. There has been a great deal of interest right now, so we’ll see what’s best for me and my family. I hope and believe that it can be something very good.

"I am 27-years-old and have started to become the football player I wanted to be. I want to play in a good league for a few more years."

It had previously been revealed by Hull Live that the midfielder has promised so see out the remainder of his contract with the Tigers, after turning down offers from other clubs during the summer.

Hull are next in action when they take on Middlesbrough, where they'll be hoping to add to Jonathan Woodgate's troubles at The Riverside with a positive result on Sunday afternoon.

The Verdict:

I think it's only a matter of time before he leaves Hull.

It's a shame that it's going to end like this to be honest, as I think Henrikson could fit into the current team, but for one reason or another, his future at the club looks bleak.

I was impressed with his performances last term, but it's certainly come as a surprise that he is set to see out his contract, and not look for a move away from the KCOM Stadium in the January transfer window.
