QPR have had a reasonable start to the season, with Mark Warburton's side in ninth place in the Championship, but only three points off leaders West Brom, as the league programme pauses for the international break.

Warburton has certainly had a positive impact on the R's squad since his appointment in the summer, following a tough campaign last season and has recruited well, whilst also getting the best from those already on the books.

Midfielder Ryan Manning is certainly one to have benefited from the arrival of Warburton with the 23-year-old getting a real run in the side for the first time, with him operating as a left-back.

So is Manning one of QPR's most underrated players?

We discuss........

Chris Gallagher

"Yes, he has had a very good season.

"You can understand why he is slipping under the radar with the talented attacking players that Mark Warburton has at his disposal but Manning has been as important as most.

"He hasn't always been a left-back but he has took to the role really well this season. He is decent defensively and his work-rate and energy down the flank is vital to the R's style of play.

"I'm sure he's appreciated at QPR but overall his value to the team perhaps goes unnoticed and he is crucial to the team moving forward."

Toby Wilding

"He probably is.

"Manning isn't one of those players who often gets talked about when QPR's impressive start to this season gets discussed, but he has clearly made a big contribution to that.

"As well as helping to keep Rangers relatively solid at the back, with three assists already this season, it does appears as though he has a part to play going forward as well.

"Given the way he has forced his way back into the side following his loan to Rotherham last season, I do think Manning deserves credit for making himself such a regular feature this season, and it is hard to see him losing that position if he continues the season the way he has started it."

Jacob Potter

"I’m not sure he’s one of their most underrated players, but he’s definitely one of them.

"I had my doubts as to whether Manning would be good enough to start regularly for QPR this season, but he’s yet to miss a league game for Mark Warburton’s side this term.

"He’s chipped in with three assists as well, so he’s clearly got something about him.

"That’s already more than the one assist he managed last season, and if he can add goals to his name in this year’s campaign, then QPR could be outsiders to challenge for a top-six finish this season in the Championship.

"He’ll be keen to build on this impressive start to the season, with the Hoops currently sat 9th in the league table, and just a point adrift of the play-off places."
