Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to Twitter to react to the club's decision to loan out Joost van Aken to VfL Osnabruck.

As confirmed by the Owls' official website, the 25-year-old will spend the rest of the 2019/20 campaign in Germany's second division with the Lily Whites.

Despite making a positive initial impression for Wednesday following his move from Heerenveen in 2017, van Aken soon fell out of favour at Hillsborough and was limited to just two appearances in all competitions during the previous campaign due to the form illustrated by the likes of Michael Hector and Tom Lees.

Having failed to make the match-day squad for either of the Owls' Championship fixtures this season, the Dutchman will be aiming to finally tie down some regular first team football for VfL Osnabruck.
