Leeds keeper Felix Wiedwald turns 28 today, so it should be a day for personal celebration, good wishes and enjoyment.

The German keeper has lost his place in the first team recently to rookie Bailey Peacock-Farrell, prompted by a terrible display as Leeds were beaten 3-0 by Middlesbrough.

21-year old Peacock-Farrell has been preferred recently despite his most recent football coming in the National League with York City. Wiedwald has featured for Werder Bremen and Eintract Frankfurt in Germany's top flight, as well as boasting a German U20 cap in his relatively distinguished career.

Those 64 Bundesliga appearances must seem a million miles away now he's lost his first team place to a teenager. Despite 12 clean sheets in his 30 Leeds outings, he has failed to cement his place as a first team regular.

Wiedwald joined Leeds in the summer on a three-year deal but has struggled to win over the Elland Road faithful.

Instead of joining in with his birthday celebrations, they've reacted negatively, taking to Twitter to express their displeasure at his recent performances.
