Tangerines fan Michael Close gave his thoughts on how well Blackpool will compete in the upcoming Sky Bet Championship season, despite a lack of players at the Lancashire club.

What are your expectations for this season?

As you know, we only have ten players at the club and don't even have a goalkeeper which is very worrying, so i think at the moment it's relegation on the cards for us.

What do you think of your summer business so far?

We have a few trialists at the club which have been doing well in pre-season, Nathan Delfouneso for example, so it would be good if we can get them tied up permanently, but our two recent signings in Jacob Mellis and Tomasz Cywka aren't great and lack the Championship quality we need, and it's also not what we are after as goalkeeper needs to be brought in immediately.

Who will be your star player this year?

That question is very difficult to answer as we don't even have enough players to field a full team yet, and i can't see our two new signings making much of an impact because as i said in the previous question they lack Championship quality.

Who will be your breakout star this year?

Well with us not having enough players for the new season and us not making enough signings, a few of the players in the academy will no doubt be called into action for the first team, and surely one of them will impress.

What game are you looking forward to the most?

I'm not so keen on our Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers, and am looking forward to this game as i hope we beat them.
