Sky Bet Championship side Derby County have loaned young starlet Charles Vernam to Coventry City until the end of the season, according to the official club website.

Having already signed Farrend Rawson on loan until the end of the season, Coventry City have used their connections with Derby County to return to sign 20-year-old forward Charles Vernam, on loan until the end of the season.

The highly rated youngster has been forging a reputation for himself as one of the stand-out performers for the Derby County Under-23 side.

The increasingly consistent performances of Vernam have impressed Steve McClaren who seemingly wants to give Vernam a taste of first team football at a relatively high level.

Coventry City is currently rooted at the bottom of the Sky Bet League One table, however, Russell Slade will be hoping that the arrival of Vernam alongside Rawson will give his side a much needed boost.

The 20-year-old forward is ineligible to make his debut for the Sky Blues in the Checkatrade tie against Swansea City's Under 23 side, however, he could make his debut as early as Saturday against Northampton Town.
