Among the Leeds United fans you will struggle to find a more popular player than central defender Pontus Jansson.

The 26-year-old is a fans' favourite at Elland Road with his passionate and strong displays at the heart of the Leeds defence since his arrival from Torino on loan in the summer.

Jansson has since signed a three-year-deal with the Whites after impressing and he will continue to be a key player for Garry Monk's side going to into the end of the season where they will fight for promotion to the Premier League.

The Swedish international certainly has the potential to play in the Premier League and will not look out his depth playing in the highest tier of English football if his side do win promotion at the end of the season.

Jansson has already made himself known this season, but what don't we know?

Football League World writer Harry Webster takes a look at two things you probably never knew about Pontus Jansson...

His agent is a former international

Pontus Jansson's agent is former Swedish international Martin Dahlin who played for teams such as Roma and Blackburn Rovers in his career.

In his career, Dahlin made 242 appearances and scoring 103 goals and also made 60 appearances for the national side, scoring a respectable 29 goals.

Now Dahlin has become an agent, representing Jansson and other Swedish stars such as West Brom defender Jonas Olsson.

Trophy winner

Jansson may be striving for promotion with Leeds United this season, but he already has a history of winning trophies with one of his previous clubs.

In 2010, 2013 and 2014, Jansson won the Allsvenskan (the Swedish Premier League) and also won the Svenska Supercupen in 2013 with Malmo FF.

The 6'5'' central defender played an important role in all of those successes and he will be keen to replicate those successes in Sweden with Leeds United.
