Premier League sides, Burnley and Sunderland are taking an interest in Villa striker, Ross McCormack according to HITC.

McCormack is seemingly going to leave Villa Park after news emerged that the Scot had been failing to turn up for training and that he had had a bust up with Steve Bruce.

The Scottish international has now been forced to train with the Under 23's in an attempt by Villa to offload the striker.

McCormack only signed for Villa in the summer in what was an expensive move for the club but the former Fulham striker has never hit the heights that he has in previous seasons.

If Burnley or Sunderland are to land McCormack, they will have to beat off competition form several Championship sides.

Derby, Wolves, Norwich, Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday are all believed to have expressed an interest in McCormack, however, the player's believed £45,000 per week wages could be a stumbling block for anyone getting a deal done.

Villa play Brentford at Griffin Park in their next Sky Bet Championship fixture, and will be aiming to get three points to help propel them closer to the coveted top six spots.
