Derby and Wigan are in talks over a move for Jamie Hanson, according to Alan Nixon.

Rams youngster Hanson has found first team opportunities hard to come by this term, but Wigan could offer him a route into first team football for the remainder of the season.

However, any potential deal could be held up with Derby reportedly wanting Yanic Wildschut from the Latics. Any move which sees Hanson go to the DW could well see the Rams want a deal put in place for Wildschut to go the other way – a player Wigan certainly do not want to lose.

Wigan need new players in the January window if they are to stave off relegation this term, and Hanson could well be the ideal signing if they could pull it off. The Derby man can operate in the centre of midfield and also at the back, and it is this versatility which makes him such an attractive proposition.

Derby have hit good form since Steve McClaren took over, and will be looking to make the playoff positions come May.

Wigan fans, what do you think to this? Derby fans, would a loan move for Hanson be good? Let us know!
