Tuesday 14th February | Derby vs Cardiff | Pride Park Stadium | Kick off: 19:45

Team News

Derby could be without several players ahead of their clash with Neil Warnock's men tonight. Central midfielders Bradley Johnson, Craig Bryson and Will Hughes could all miss out, meaning the likes of Julien De Sart and Jacob Butterfield are likely to feature.

George Thorne and Craig Forsyth remain the only long term absentees for the Rams.

Cardiff City travel to Derbyshire without defenders Lee Peltier, who's recovering from surgery on his ankle, whilst centre back Bruno Manga is ruled out with a knee injury, so the Bluebirds back four could be unchanged from the one that helped beat Leeds on Saturday.

Wide man Anthony Pilkington is also rated as doubtful.

Likely Line-Ups

Derby: Carson Christie, Keogh, Pearce, Lowe Baird, De Sart, Butterfield, Anya, Ince, Bent

Cardiff: McGregor, Connolly, Morrison, Bamba, Richards, Halford, Ralls, Noone, Gunnarsson, Hoilett, Zohore

Match Preview

Derby come into the game off the back of a 3-3 draw with Bristol City. The Rams fought back from 3-0 down to clinch a point after an awful first half performance which saw Steve McClaren make a double substitution after 30 minutes.

The Rams sit in 8th place in the Championship just five points from the play-off places, and could close that gap to two points depending on other results.

Despite a poor performance on Saturday, Derby have not lost a home game in any competition since September, and McClaren is undefeated at Pride Park since taking over.

Cardiff head into the game off the back of a great win away to promotion hopefuls Leeds United, but that victory was just their second win in their last eight away league matches.

The Bluebirds sit 14th in the Championship, 10 points clear of the drop zone, and if results go their way tonight Neil Warnock's side can move into the top half of the table.

Match Stats

  • Derby are yet to keep a clean sheet at home in 2017.
  • Cardiff's last win at Derby came back in 2011, when the Bluebirds walked away 3-0 winners.
  • Cardiff have won just one of the last seven meetings between the clubs.
  • Since beating Cardiff in September, Derby have lost just four league games.

Prediction

Cardiff will set out to frustrate Derby in their own backyard. The Rams have been strong at home but a repeat of Saturday's performance will give Warnock's side a good chance of taking something from the game.
