Burton Albion midfielder Jackson Irvine is attracting interest from a number of clubs after scoring eight goals so far this season, becoming the Brewers’ top scorer – according to reports in Australia via the Birmingham Mail.
Championship sides Derby County and Birmingham City are reportedly chasing the 23 year-old.
Irvine joined Burton last summer from Ross County following their spectacular promotion to the second-tier and has racked up 19 appearances for his team.
The versatile midfielder, who can also play at centre-back, has seven caps for Australia since he made his international debut for the Socceroos in a 3-0 victory over Canada.
Jackson Irvine put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at the Pirelli Stadium in in July, and despite the interest, Burton Albion are yet to receive any bids for the former Celtic man.
Following the club’s impressive start to the campaign for their first season ever in the Championship, Burton Albion linger just one point above the relegation zone and manager Nigel Clough has stated he’ll need to bring in reinforcements.
