With Uwe Rosler taking the hot seat at Elland Road, could Leeds United reinvigorate their interest in a former linked forward.

Leeds United may consider a move for Delort this summer

It's no secret the Leeds United were interested in Wigan's Andy Delort before they secured his services and the man that signed Delort was none other than Leeds' current boss Uwe Rosler.

Wigan won the race to bring in Delort but with the dismissal of Rosler, Wigan have struggled to find the right way to play the French forward.

The £3 million move from FC Tours has not worked out well for both parties and he subsequently joined his previous club on loan in January.

Rosler is said to be a big fan of Delort and when he joined Wigan, Rosler said; "Andy is such an exciting player. He loves to score.

"He is a player who wants to play in the English Premier League and he wants to do that here in Wigan, so we are delighted to sign him."

Although the 23-year-old and the manager who signed him are now both outcasts at Wigan and Delort could follow his old boss out the door this summer.

What better place for the forward than a reunion with a coach who's desperate to work with him.

Leeds are in desperate need of a striker who can break the 20+ goal barrier.

Delort is clearly capable of bringing in goals with his record of 24 goals in 38 appearances for Tours in the 2013/14 season.

Although a record of no goals in 11 appearances for Wigan isn't encouraging, if Delort is reunited with Rosler and is given the confidence he needs, Leeds could gain a fantastic partnership.
