Former Manchester United and Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison has begun training with Sky Bet Championship side Wigan Athletic, ahead of a potential move, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old midfielder has struggled since breaking through at Manchester United at the age of 17.

Despite being supremely talented, Morrison's career has been mired in controversy which has hindered his development significantly.

Morrison's calculated risk to join Serie A side Lazio has also led to a further stagnation of his career as he has failed to make a single appearance this season.

As Morrison looks for an escape back to England, Championship side Wigan Athletic have shown an interest in the midfielder.

The potential reunion of Ravel Morrison and Warren Joyce who worked together at Manchester United could be a compelling enough reason for Morrison to join Wigan Athletic.

If Morrison can impress in training, it could be enough to persuade Wigan Athletic to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis.

Wigan Athletic fans, what do you make of the news? Would you like to see Ravel Morrison join Wigan Athletic permanent? Would he offer much needed quality in midfield? Could he be the catalyst to help Wigan survive? Are you concerned by the controversies surrounding him, should Wigan look elsewhere?
