Preston North End remained in the Championship top-six despite a humbling 2-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night.

North End had the chance to move within three points of second place in the Championship but despite a disappointing defeat, the Lilywhites remained in the play-off places, three points clear of Bristol City in seventh.

Alex Neil's side went in 2-0 down at the break thanks to goals from Hal Robson-Kanu and Jake Livermore but the scoreline could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for North End stopper Declan Rudd pulling off a number of fine saves.

Compounding North End's miserable evening was the sending off of Darnell Fisher who received his marching orders for a clumsy challenge on Callum Robinson.

On his goalkeeper's performance, Alex Neil told the club's media channels that: "I thought he had a very good game tonight."

Although some North End fans were quick to display their frustration, many were keen to single Rudd out for praise.

Here we take a look at some of the best responses to Rudd's display on a disappointing evening...
