Charlton Athletic's Johann Berg Gudmundsson is a target of Norwich City according to the South London Press.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson was always going to be one of Charlton's players that they would find most difficult to keep ,as he was one of the club's highest earners and Gudmundsson's performances saw him close to the top of the Championship assist chart despite Charlton's relegation to League 1.

Any potential move for the Icelandic winger has been put on hold for much longer than expected, as Gudmundsson is waiting until Iceland's campaign in the European Championship is over.

Gudmundsson's stock has risen enormously as he is part of the Icelandic side that has so far defeated all the odds to get out of their qualification group, and Gudmundsson was part of the side that defeated England.

It has been reported that Norwich City's interest in Gudmundsson has grown as Iceland continue to progress through the tournamen,t and Alex Neil is keen to bring him to Carrow Road.

Following Nathan Redmond's departure to Southampton, this move makes sense as Gudmundsson would be a natural replacement on the right hand side of a midfield quartet.

It is looking inevitable that Gudmundsson will leave Charlton this summer, but it is still unknown where the Icelandic winger's destination will be as Norwich's interest remain in its earliest stages.

Norwich fans, how do you feel about the news? Would you like to see Gudmundsson join? Would he be the likely replacement for Redmond? Do you think he could be a success in Norwich colours?
