Championship pacesetters Brighton and Hove Albion are leading the chase to sign Chelsea’s rising star Ruben Loftus-Cheek, according to The Mirror.
Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, is keen to get Loftus Cheek out on loan and playing regularly, and he seemingly sees Brighton as the perfect place to do that.
Brighton, are keen to bolster their options in centre midfield and with Dale Stephens still not committed to the club long term, there is potential that he could seek a move in January and Loftus-Cheek could be his replacement.
If The Seagulls were to land the England under-21 international, they would have beaten off competition from the Premier League, with West Ham also believed to be interested in the Chelsea youngster.
Brighton aren’t short of options in centre midfield, having three fully fit at the minute and Beram Kayal on the comeback trail, but Loftus-Cheek adds something different to the rest.
The Seagulls have been simply sensational this season and are currently at the summit of the division, after downing Fulham 2-1 away from home to ultimately leapfrog Newcastle in the table.
