Hull City are a club that seems to perpetually jump between making it's home in the Premier League or the Championship.

The team is currently looking like they might make the move back up the to the top flight after being relegated last year, following an 18th place finish.

The club has become a bit of a revolving door as of late, with rumours flying of players both joining and leaving the team.

The Tigers have been taking measures to reinforce their attack in their push for the Premier League.

The team picked up forward Nick Powell from Manchester United on loan in an 11th hour move on the final day of the winter transfer window.

Steve Bruce will no doubt be willing to be patient and allow Powell the time to develop. He was previously a bit of a problem player for teams.

Leicester City notably terminated his loan early in December 2014, citing his lack of commitment to training as the reason for his departure.

All the same, Powell should go a long way to help the team in the goal-scoring department given the relatively disappointing loan of Arsenal's Chuba Akpom.

Akpom has yet to prove his worth for the Tigers and club record signing Abel Hernandez has intimated that he might want to return to his old stomping grounds in Italy following the season.

Therefore, it makes perfect sense for the team to begin planning for a backup striker.

Rumour has it that the team is also looking at signing striker Will Keane from Manchester United to help further shore up the squad's front line.

Keane spent most of last year on loan at Preston North End before being called back to the Red Devils at the end of the year.

However, he hasn't made an appearance since his return, and it's looking like he is seeking a move of the more permanent persuasion.

Hull have been making smart moves with their transfers and one wouldn't be blamed for having the impression that the team is hoping to replicate the miraculous success of Leicester City, who only gained their own promotion to the Premier League in the 2014-15 season.

Leicester currently sit at the top of the Premier League table with 53 points, in a year that started with predictions of a repeat Chelsea win.

That, of course, isn't going to happen given the Blues' huge downfall, and Leicester sit a full five points ahead of perennial title contenders Manchester City and Arsenal.

Hull currently top the Championship with 56 points and Middlesbrough is right on their heels with 56 points, but Hull has the edge with a +3 point differential.

It's little secret that current owner Assem Allam is looking to sell Hull City.

The team has been on the market for the past two years ever since a failed attempt to rebrand the team as "Hull Tigers."

However, the owners have said that they wish to leave a lasting legacy.

A move back to the Premier League would definitely be a step in the right direction.
