Bristol City have had to struggle along with various injuries this season despite them flying high up the table as they sit sixth in the Championship, but the Robins need to get back one of their experienced midfielders from injury.

The player in question is Hungarian international Adam Nagy, who has already suffered one or two set-backs on his road to recovery since suffering an injury on August 17th and not pulling on a Robins shirt since.

The former Bologna central midfielder, who signed in the summer from the Italian side, has been struggling with a foot injury despite being called up to represent his nation during the last three international breaks.

The 24-year-old returned from the October international break with the injury being worse than when he departed the city for a week, despite the midfielder not featuring in either of Hungary's international fixtures.

Nagy will be desperate to pull on a Bristol City shirt again despite injury, and he could be set for a return in the Severnside derby this weekend away at Cardiff City.

City manager Lee Johnson won't be wanting to throw one of his star midfielders into a high-pressure situation during a derby atmosphere that is bound to reflect the tension between both sets of fans on the pitch, however he may have no choice if City are light on central midfielders.

Robins skipper Josh Brownhill was forced off with injury in their last game against Barnsley after half an hour, with the injury later being revealed as a back spasm, while Han-Noah Massengo has appeared slightly tired in his recent outings with the 18-year-old still fairly new to the English game.

Republic of Ireland international Callum O'Dowda is more suited to the wing than being in central midfield, which is where he has been used in recent weeks, and the attacking Kasey Palmer can have his off days as well.

Hungarian Nagy can come back into the Bristol City side and keep the tempo ticking over as well as calming things down in central midfield when the Robins begin to panic slightly and start rushing their decisions.

Nagy would be good in a midfield three or a midfield diamond as the holding midfielder, with his ability to play passes from deep providing an attacking threat from the base of midfield.

The summer signing can prove to be an astute signing by Lee Johnson if he can put his injury woes behind him and get back out on the pitch, with City's midfield needing the summer signing and the fans eager to see him come through the next couple of weeks unscathed.
