Bristol City midfielder Han-Noah Massengo has taken to Instagram to admit his frustrations following the Robins' 2-2 draw with Wigan on Sunday afternoon.

Lee Johnson's side were forced to accept a 2-2 draw with the Latics as Pedro Pereira scored a late equaliser after Chey Dunkley had netted a brace in response to Andreas Weimann's opener for the Robins.

The result leaves Bristol City sitting sixth in the Championship table as they failed to follow up their late 2-1 victory over Charlton with another success, but Johnson's side have still only lost once in their last 13 league matches.

Massengo, who arrived at Ashton Gate from Monaco over the summer, has been a key player during this impressive early-season run, with the midfielder having made 12 appearances in the centre of the pitch for the Robins.

The 18-year-old has been named in 10 of Johnson's starting line-ups during this time, but he was only restricted to a place on the bench ahead of the clash with Wigan on Sunday.

Massengo was introduced in place of Rodri in the 58th minutes of the match, and his introduction eventually helped towards inspiring his side to secure an 86th-minute equaliser against the 18th-placed side.

The midfielder has now taken to Instagram to share his frustrations with the final result, but he insisted his side will be working hard this week to bounce back against Barnsley on Friday night.

The Verdict

Massengo has been a revelation since his arrival at Bristol City over the summer, and his glowing performances have meant he has significantly exceeded the amount of playing time that would many were expecting him to receive.

The Frenchman has become a regular feature in the Robins' midfield, but the regularity with which he has been playing means he is now at risk of suffering burn-out, particularly given the intensity of the Championship.

This would explain why Massengo was left on the bench for the Wigan match, but a full week of recovery should now help him to become refreshed ahead of the Barnsley meeting on Friday evening.
