High-flying Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion have won the race for Strømsgodset's Norwegian Abdul-Basit Agouda, according to HITC Sport.

The 17-year-old striker is one of the most highly coveted and highly rated young players in Norway, having already earned international recognition playing at both Norwegian Under 17 and Under 19 level.

This season, Agouda has featured twice for Strømsgodset.

Both times were featuring twice in the Norwegian cup competition, Agouda was one of many scorers in an emphatic victory in the first round of the NM-Cup.

As one of the most talented young players in Norway since Martin Ødegaard who also plied his trade at Strømsgodset before joining European giants Real Madrid, a number of teams have begun scouting Scandinavia in search of young talent.

A number of sides were monitoring Agouda, however, it is the Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion who have beat off interest from Premier League side Middlesbrough to win the race for the Strømsgodset forward.

The Norwegian Under 19 international is now likely to feature heavily in Brighton's Under-23 side as the 17-year-old looks to break into the first team set-up.
