Promotion-chasing Brighton and Hove Albion are preparing a £4 million bid for Blackburn defender Shane Duffy, according to Alan Nixon.

The Irish international has been on the radar of the Seagulls for a long time now, and he's seemingly edging closer and closer towards a move to the AMEX stadium.

Blackburn have endured a torrid start to the season and it was epitomised in Duffy's performance on Wednesday night, as he scored two own goals before being sent off in added time. Rovers eventually lost the Championship fixture 2-1 to Cardiff City.

The timing of the bid has taken some by surprise after the level of calamity on display yesterday evening, but Brighton are still keen to push through with a deal, despite his performance yesterday evening.

Rovers fans, is Duffy a big loss as you attempt to turn things around this season? Can it get any worse? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
