The Dutchman has a very impressive CV having managed clubs like Ajax, Tottenham, Hamburg and Fulham. He was sacked by Fulham in 2013, after a torrid season for the Whites which saw them relegated for the Premier League.

He's now one of the names linked with the Brentford job after manager Mark Warburton was controversially told he didn't have a futurewith the Bee's - after he and the owners reached the verdict that they had different visions for the club.

This sparked a outrage among supporters, after Warburton took over from Uwe Rosler and lead them to League One promotion. On top of that, he then helped the Bees to a top six finish, where they lost out to Middlesbrough in the play-off semi finals.

The London club finished in fifth spot in the Sky Bet Championship and accumulated 78 points last season.
