According to journalist Alan Nixon, League One side Bolton Wanderers are embroiled in a battle to sign frontman Adam Le Fondre on a loan deal.

However, Nixon states that Bolton have “Competition” and also face the challenge of untying him from his current loan deal with relegation threatened Wigan Athletic.

Since signing for Cardiff City back in the summer of 2014, Le Fondre has struggled to settle in Cardiff and has been shipped out on numerous loan deals, the most prolific spell coming with Bolton Wanderers for whom he netted a respectable 8 goals in 17 games.

Le Fondre made himself a huge fans favourite with the Bolton Wanderers faithful throughout that spell, and it appears the majority of fans would be ecstatic to see the 30 year old back at the club.

Bolton currently sit 2nd in League One, three points behind front runners Sheffield United and will be hopeful that securing Le Fondre’s signature will also go a long way to securing promotion.

Bolton fans, what do you make of this news? Would the frontman be welcomed with open arms? Let us know your thoughts below!
