The 25-year-old is without a club after leaving Wigan Athletic at the end of the season following their relegation from the Championship.

Blackburn are currently under a transfer embargo after breaching the Financial Fair Play rules, meaning they can only sign free agents and make loan signings.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is keen to add to his squad this summer but has his hands tied due to the embargo.

He lost midfielder Tom Cairney to Fulham in a £3.5million deal last month and is keen to sign a midfielder to replace the void left by the former Scotland Under-21 international.

Former Oldham and Doncaster Rovers midfielder Dean Furman is on trial with the Lancashire outfit as he looks to make a step up to the Championship.

Kim Bo-Kyung, a South Korean international, spent nearly three years at Cardiff City after joining from Cerezo Osaka in a £2.5million deal in July 2012.

He went on to make nearly 60 appearances for the Bluebirds, scoring three times, but fell out of favour following their relegation from the Premier League in 2014 and his contract was terminated by mutual consent in January.

The midfielder then signed a short-term deal with Wigan, where made 18 outings and scored twice, as the Latics suffered relegation to League One.
