The 28-year-old arrived from Millwall in 2013 penning a two-year deal at the club and was one of Gay Bowyer's first signings at Ewood Park - he played an integral part in Blackburn's FA Cup run last season, scoring three times in four appearances.

FLW understands he was a target for Rotherham United, who are making additions to help them stay up again next year, however he is now set to reject a move and pen a new contract at Blackburn.

Taylor would've been Steve Evans' third signing at the club after they also brought in former Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday players Aidy White, Lewis Buxton and Joe Mattock all on free transfers.

Meanwhile Blackburn are looking to pen their outgoing players down to new contract as a transfer embargo prevents them from spending any money this summer.
