According to the Birmingham Mail, Birmingham City are still hopeful of landing midfield duo Rene Krhin and Craig Gardner in the next few days.
Rene Krhin has been strongly linked with a move and was in attendance to watch the Blues’ 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in the FA Cup.
It is believed that Birmingham have agreed a £2m fee with Granada for the services of the Slovenian international and now the Championship club are just waiting for his answer.
The 26-year-old is a defensive midfielder and the Birmingham Mail understands that he will let the Blues know his answer shortly.
A deal for Craig Gardner is also fairly close.
Birmingham are said to be ironing out a few fine details in the deal with West Bromwich Albion but it is expected that the 30-year-old will join on a loan with a view to a permanent deal.
It would be Blues fan Gardner’s second spell at Birmingham whilst his brother, Gary, is currently at Aston Villa.
