Charlton Athletic's Morgan Fox could be granted another opportunity in the Championship, with Birmingham City linked with a swoop for the left-back, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Having come through the academy at The Valley, Fox has gone on to make 70 appearances for The Addicks, but with his side relegated to League 1 for next campaign, Fox may seek pastures new.

Birmingham are believed to be in the market for a left-back to provide competition for Jonathan Grounds in that position. The 22-year-old is well-regarded by many and may well seek the chance to avoid playing at League One level.

Charlton actually did the double of Birmingham this season, so Rowett will have seen at first-hand the ability Fox possesses and could well be a useful addition to his squad.

Meanwhile, Charlton will hope that they will be able to keep hold of their promising youngsters as they will look to return to the Championship at the first attempt next season.
