Birmingham City are looking at bringing Premier League midfielder Craig Gardner back to St. Andrews, with West Brom manager Tony Pulis confirming this, via Sky Sports.
Pulis has said: “Birmingham have come in for Gards. They’re interested in taking Craig.
“Negotiations are underway. I am not sure what it’s going to be at the moment. I’m not that keen on getting rid of Gards. He’s a great professional and he’s really good in the dressing room.
“That’s ongoing. We’ll see what happens there. We have to make sure that, if we do a deal, it has to be right for the club and for Craig.”
The 30-year-old has started just 2 Premier League games this season for his current club West Brom and he may be looking for a route out of the club in search of regular football.
New Birmingham manager Gianfranco Zola is hoping that Tony Pulis will allow the centre midfielder to move out on loan until the end of the season.
The Blues have struggled since the Italian manager succeeded the popular Gary Rowett and Zola is looking to bring some new faces in as he looks to push his side back up the table.
Gardner made 52 appearances during his time with Birmingham before moving to close rivals Aston Villa.
If he were to re-join then he would add some ever valuable experience and quality to the side which could prove crucial in their push for the play-offs.
