Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has described Friday night's 2-0 victory against Derby County as a 'complete' performance, report the Yorkshire Evening Post

After a build-up engulfed by 'spygate', The Whites dominated Frank Lampard's side from start to finish and looked a cut above as they extended their lead at the top of the Championship table.

“It was a very complete game,” Bielsa said.

“The fans have never supported us as much as tonight.

“The fans and the team understood the importance of this game and they united. The team played in a way which deserved the support.”

The home side could have had a penalty just seconds into the game when Ezgjan Alioski was bundled over by Andre Wisdom in the Derby area but the linesman had, incorrectly, judged the Leeds left-back to be offside.

Kemar Roofe gave Leeds the lead in the 20th minute, however, tapping home after some brilliant work from winger Jack Clarke following a poor Scott Carson punch.

It was 2-0 just two minutes into the second half has Carson once again could only claw Clarke's cross straight to the feet of Alioski who squared for Jack Harrison to tap home to secure all three points.

The verdict

Bielsa is right, this really was a complete performance.

In what was expected to be a tightly thought contest, Leeds absolutely battered Derby in every area of the pitch, so much so that it quickly took the sense of occasion out of the game.

After three consecutive losses, this has really reinstalled a sense that Leeds are destined to win promotion this year and you would be very hard pressed to argue against it.
