Reliable journalist Pat Murphy has Tweeted that Henri Lansbury wants to join Aston Villa and Steve Bruce's side are confident of landing their man.

Pat Murphy took to his personal Twitter to reveal that Lansbury will either move this month if the new Nottingham Forest owners agree to his sale or on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Murphy continued by saying that Aston Villa will not raise their bid of £3m in this January window because they believe he has his heart set on a switch to Villa Park and he will not join any other club.

Championship trio Newcastle United, Derby County and Birmingham City have all previously been credited with an interest in Lansbury whilst Premier League Watford are said to be keen on his services too.

The 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer and talks of a new deal have stalled because Nottingham Forest are in the process of changing owners.

Nottingham Forest fans - can you keep Lansbury until the end of the season? Would you accept the £3m or just let him go for free in the summer?

Aston Villa fans - can you land Lansbury? Would you like him now or for free in the summer? What can he add to your midfield?
