Aston Villa are at the head of the queue to sign in-demand Bury youngster Jacob Bedeau, according to the Bury Times.

Both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have been monitoring the 17-year old's progress at Gigg Lane, however the Villans look very likely to land the highly-rated starlet.

Bedeau is a defender by trade, has also been attracting the likes of Premier League outfits Man City and Man Utd, after showing glimpses of his potential in 7 appearances for the Shakers this term.

The Lancashire club are said to be holding out for a seven-figure fee for the 17-year old, however the report claims that Villa have opened the bidding for the player, with a substantial offer for the talented teen.

Bury sit 20th in the League One table, whereas Villa sit in a more illustrious 13th place in the Championship table, 10 points off the play-off places.

Steve Bruce's Villa side face Preston North End at Villa Park on Saturday, in what will be a tough match for the Midlands outfit, with Preston in good form under the tutelage of Simon Grayson.
