Nottingham Forest winger Alex Mighten has taken to Twitter to reflect on the club's 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.

The 17-year-old, who is a product of the Reds' youth academy, was handed his first league appearance by manager Sabri Lamouchi against the Hoops on Saturday.

After illustrating some real signs of promise during Forest's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup last month, Mighten would have been determined to inspire his side to victory over QPR.

However, the Reds were instead forced to settle for a draw in what turned out to be a frustrating afternoon at the City Ground.

Forest were denied an early goal as Joe Worrall's header was disallowed after Joe Lolley's corner was delivered whilst the ball was moving towards him as a result of blustery conditions.

Sammy Ameobi and Tiago Silva both went close to opening the scoring before the break as the Reds continued to pose an attacking threat.

Following the break, Lewis Grabban and Joe Lolley both squandered chances to seal victory for Forest who missed the opportunity to move up to third in the Championship standings.

Reflecting on his side's draw, Mighten tweeted: "What a feeling making my league debut at the City Ground.

"Tough one to take but we keep fighting till the end."

The Verdict

Given that Forest are now six points adrift of the automatic promotion places in the Championship, it is imperative that they bounce back on Tuesday when they face Cardiff City.

Whilst Mighten is unlikely to start in this particular fixture, he will be hoping to make another cameo appearance against the Bluebirds.

Unquestionably talented, the winger could turn to be somewhat of a hidden weapon at the Cardiff City Stadium if Lamouchi opts to call upon his services due to the fact that he has only played three senior games this season.

Providing that Forest are able to seal all three points on their travels in midweek, they could use the momentum gained from this result to push on in the second-tier over the coming weeks.
