After recording an impressive draw away at Fulham during their last Championship game, Charlton Athletic will no doubt be looking to continue their solid start to the season by claiming victory over Derby County in their upcoming fixture at The Valley.

The Addicks have been in good form since tasting promotion last term, with manager Lee Bowyer having instilled a 'never say die' attitude within his squad, which has shone through for much of their campaign so far.

One player who may now be looking to break into the side, is experienced Israeli footballer Beram Kayal, whose season has been plagued by injury problems up to now, thus limiting the Brighton loanee to just 12 minutes of league football since moving to Charlton this summer.

The ex-Celtic man will now be looking to establish himself within Bowyer's squad, after his manager told Londonnewsonline.co.uk that the 31-year-old would be returning to action against Derby this weekend along with Tomer Hemed and Ben Purrington, with Bowyer stating the following:

“I’m not too sure on Chuks but the other three will be back for Derby.”

Kayal will certainly be relishing his return to action, with the Israel international being handed a big opportunity to impress his manger against Derby this weekend, as he looks to capitalize on the squad's current injury issues, with fellow midfielder George Lapslie having been ruled out for this weekend's game.

Kayal will know what qualities he can bring to his side this season, with the experienced midfielder having shown throughout his career how crucial his defensive contribution can be towards achieving positive results for his side, as was seen on a high number of occasions during his time at Celtic, for whom he played over 100 games for.

If Kayal can get himself a good run of games, there is no reason why he cannot dislodge Charlton's current midfield trio and become a regular starter for the Addicks this season.
