Bournemouth full-back, Adam Smith, has said his side's performance in their 2-1 win over West Brom was "Premier League standard".

The Cherries ran out 2-1 winners in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup to reach the fifth round for the first time in the club's history.

The win continued Bournemouth's fine form this season and Smith told BBC Sport they can keep getting better, "We're making winning a habit, that is a good thing. The character and spirit we have in this camp, if we continue to show this [form] there is no limit for us."

Bournemouth could face Premier League champions Manchester City in the next round or South coast rivals Southampton and Smith, 23, feels that last night's win shows that they can compete, "The football we play is Premier League standard and we have shown we can compete with top-flight teams."

The man that opened the scoring, midfielder Eunan O'Kane, said that the result was a sign of how far the club have come and it will give them confidence to continue their campaign.

"It's a great result, we've come up against a good Premier League side tonight," he said. "It's massive credit to us that we've managed to give a good account of ourselves.

"We were never really under tremendous amounts of pressure and I felt we held our own and even their goal they were fortunate to get. From our point of view, it's been a good night all-round."

O'Kane finished calmly after Stanislas made a superb run to provide the assist, the 24-year-old joined from Torquay in 2012 and thinks last nights win shows how far Bournemouth have come since then, and that Eddie Howe's men can go further still.

"I remember playing Wigan here when we were in League One and they were in the Premier League and we set up 4-5-1 hoping to hit them on the break," he said.

"But now it was 4-4-2 and it was us against you. It was a huge statement in how far the club has come in such a short period of time.

"Hopefully we've proved to ourselves that we can do it and can play at that level. There is no reason why if we continue to play well and get these results that we won't be there."

Bournemouth are ball 1 in tonight's 5th round draw which will be live on Sky Sports after the Manchester City v Newcastle match.
