Charlton fell to a late 2-1 defeat at the hands of South London rivals Millwall on Saturday afternoon with Matt Smith scoring an injury-time winner for Gary Rowett's side.

Millwall had raced into a first-half lead courtesy of defender Shaun Hutchinson before Jonathan Leko then levelled the scores after the interval, but Smith then pounced late on to seal the all-important victory.

The result means that Rowett has now won both of his home matches since taking over as Lions boss last month, while Charlton have now secured just one victory in their last seven Championship matches.

The last-minute defeat will be particularly painful for Lee Bowyer's side given that it came against their local rivals who they have now not beaten at any point during the last 24 years.

Charlton shared news of the defeat via their Twitter account at full-time:

Plenty of Charlton supporters responded to the result with many criticising their side's performance, while others expressed their frustration with the Addicks' continued struggle to overcome their London rivals.
